The project is located in the extreme western part of Montana. It begins 1.5 miles east of St. Regis and continues along existing U.S. Highway No. 10 a distance of 3.6 miles. A four-lane divided highway is being planned for this project. The loss of trees and other native vegetation necessary for the location of an additional two lanes of highway constitute the main impact on the environment.
