General questions of the design of guided ballistic missiles with liquid- and solid-propellant rocket engines, the principles of the arrangement and the operation of contemporary rockets and their basic systems, and also questions of determining static and dynamic loads, affecting a rocket under diverse conditions of operation are examined. Also elucidated are questions of aerodynamic heating and variation in temperature fields in the elements or rocket design during the effect of different external factors on the rockets. In examining the designs of individual sections of rockets the methods of calculating their elements for strength and also the approximate calculation of a number of systems are presented. (Author)
