The report is a sub-study on taxi-organization and operation within the SIDA-sponsored Urban Transport Study in the People's Republic of Mozambique. The report analyzes the present conditions in the cities of Maputo and Beira. The recommendations encompass proposals on how to improve the current low standards of performance and the future role of taxis in urban transport. Emphasis is laid on institutional measures and an implementation program of fleet renewal.
