The investigators expanded an existing surviellance system to encompass all motor vehicle injuries among children (0-14 years) seen in emergency rooms. Analyses focuses on the injury changes among 4- to 14-year-olds since the seat belt law was passed and the underreporting of pedestrian and pedicycle injuries in police files. The surveillance system will eventually expand to encompass all pediatric injury types.
