The report describes the aerodynamic capability and physical plant installation of the U. S. Naval Ordnance Laboratory's Hypersonic Tunnel. The tunnel is a high pressure blowdown facility, using air as the working gas, operating at Mach numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 with test section Reynolds Number from 3000 thousand to 50 million per foot. The stagnation pressure may be varied between 5 and 150 atmospheres with stagnation temperatures sufficient to prevent equilibrium condensation in the test section. (Author)
