The development of the ideas of F. A. Tsander and their realization in modern astronautics are traced in such areas as astrodynamics, the theory and design of motors and space vehicles, life support systems and astrobotanics. Considerable attention is given to analysis of the role and significance of the works of F. A. Tsander in the history of rocket and space science and technology. (Author)
