An annual report is presented for a study pertaining to the technology assessment of alternative transportation fuels. This assessment involves the following tasks: evaluation of the market penetration by electric vehicles; modeling of the effects of railroad electrification; determination of the energy savings implications of having a substantial number of diesel cars in the US; development of an improved coal depletion model; and projecting the transportation demand for alternative fuels.
