The final report is made on field test performance by a Coast Guard test team aboard the RARITAN, a 110 foot WYTM class ship used for winter icebreaking. The ship was modified with a water hull lubrication system and an air bubbler system. The report begins with a discussion of the hull lubrication concept and why it was employed. It then describes the hardware design and instrumentation. The design and experimentation is discussed in some detail and a portion of the report is devoted to environmental studies that were done in conjunction with the testing. The report concludes with conclusions and recommendations. (Author)
