The proposed improvements to The Ohio State University airport include extension of an existing east-west runway, paving of an existing east-west sod runway, construction of connecting taxistrips, and improvements to airport appurtenances such as lighting and aircraft parking areas. The purpose of the improvements is to improve the safety, convenience, and service to both the instruction program in aviation and the service to general aviation provided by Don Scott Field. The capability to separate training and small aircraft traffic from the general aviation traffic will promote improved safety and service for both areas. The only possible adverse environmental effect would be a potential increase in air pollution caused by increased aircraft traffic. (Author)
