The report presents data obtained from testing at the G.A. Riedesel Pavement Testing Facility, during the period from February 11 to May 4, 1972. The purpose of this project was fourfold: to determine pavement wear caused by studded tires; to evaluate the resistance of different pavement materials and textures used in the states of Washington and Idaho to wear caused by tire studs; to test pavement materials and overlays to reduce tire stud damage; and, to study the effect of studded truck tires on pavements.
