A report on a study of the feasibility of combining a surface effect ship (SES) with low take-off and landing-speed aircraft in order to create an antisubmarine warfare (ASW) aircraft carrier (CVS) with advanced characteristics. An approach is suggested that would utilize the next generation SES (a 2000-ton testcraft) and the S-2 aircraft to demonstrate the concept. (Author)
