The objective of this study has been to investigate if it is possible to show that significantly reduced exhaust emissions from bus traffic can be achieved. Moreover, the objective is to describe how such demonstration projects can be set up. These demonstration projects include the comparison of the environmental effects of natural gas/biogas drive relative to currently applied and proven technology. The intent is to determine whether it is meaningful to carry on research and development of engines, tank systems and infrastructure, etc., for bus drive. This should be seen against the background that currently applicable or proposed government regulations with regard to emissions will be much more restrictive in the long run.
