An elongated missile type vehicle is propelled underwater along a travel path confined by on-board navigational guidance to a pre-defined volumetric zone. Targets within such zone are detected by sensors to control programming of travel and collection of target data through an on-board computer interfaced with a command transmitting communication link and a selectively deployable payload system.
