Development of model motorcycle driver licensing questions was undertaken by the Motorcycle Industry Council at the request of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Adminstrators. The objective of the cooperative project was to develop a pool of questions from which state and provincial driver license administrators could draw in constructing the knowledge portion of the jurisdiction's motorcycle driver license examination. The questions deal exclusively with motorcycles and are intended for use as a supplement to, or in conjunction with, the automobile knowledge tests currently used by each state and province. They were written and reviewed by a large number of motorcycle riders to insure that the questions were clearly worded and that they actually related to the knowledge and skills needed to ride safely on a motorcycle.
