IAI (Israel Aircraft Industries) has initiated a program to have its own capability in experimental hypersonic aerodynamics. It is planning to reconstruct and operate the Hypersonic Wind Tunnel, purchased in 1978 from General Dynamics, together with its Tri-sonic Wind Tunnel to complement its Low Speed and High Speed Wind Tunnels. The air supply system, air heater, by-pass valve, nozzles, test chamber and diffuser-ejector system of the Hypersonic Wind Tunnel are described and its operational characteristics and experience presented. The purpose of the presentation is to invite participants' suggestions for future development of hypersonic vehicles.
