The role of crew member rescue systems in the provision of manned space launch system flight safety is considered. The rescue system requirements are identified. Jettisonable cabins and ejection seat comparative analysis is given. Main parameters of an ejection seat developed in the USSR are presented. Flight certification of the seat is performed using high speed and high altitude aircraft (airborne laboratories) which allowed test ejections under conditions close to the actual.
