The report is essentially an addenum to (Pre-BART traveler attitudes and perception-- east bay panel) (BART I, part II, vol. I). At the time the earlier report was written there had been no opportunity to constitute the panels as intended in the study design. Of necessity, the report was based on respondent groups defined by the sampling strategy rather than by the study design. The purpose of the sampling strategy was to insure that data would be collected on an adequate number of persons (50 or more) who would be eligible for membership in each panel, so that the panels could be selected from the pool of respondents. The present report presents the procedures and results of that selection.
