It was concluded that: Points of difference between Army's 295 cubic foot container and Navy's 275 cubic foot container are major ones, and are not comparable for the purposes of establishing definite and pertinent standards. Army's 295 cubic foot container is a special purpose container suitable for lightweight and bulky cargo. Navy's 275 cubic foot container is a general purpose container suitable for all types of cargo, and because of its inherent character, it is recommended as subject for standardization. Navy's 150 cubic foot container is not only suitable for transportation of general cargo, but is particularly adaptable for warehouse operations. It is recommended as subject for standardization. Navy's 200 and 75 cubic foot containers require further study before being considered for standardization.
