This report compares aircraft mishap data for UH-lD/M helicopters with and without crashworthy fuel systems (CWFS) in. stalled. The purpose of the comparison was to determine, on the basis of actual mishap data, whether the CWFS has reduced the hazard of postcrash fires in aircraft accidents. Data used were taken from records of mishaps that occurred during the period 1 June 1970 through 31 August 1971.
