Recent progress in the development of advanced materials to extend the life of Naval systems is discussed. The developments include anti-corrosion and anti-fouling paints, improved lubricants, and more durable helicopter rotor blades, as well as a variety of materials processing techniques and improved uses of materials to reduce corrosion, wear and fatigue of systems components.
