The future domestic market for floating facilities which provide or support municipal services was analyzed. An assessment of benefits to the maritime industry resulting from implementation of these floating projects was made. Case studies were performed for five concepts thought to have the greatest potential in terms of promoting growth within the U.S. maritime industry and most likely to be implemented between the present and the year 2000. This two volume report is Part II of a study of industrial plant vessels and specifically addresses those applications which provide regional or municipal services. Part I provided a worldwide survey of floating industrial plants and their past history, current status and potential.
