A simulation was developed (System Performance Simulation or SPS) which models ship survivability under surface-to-surface missiles' (SSM) saturation attack. Using this simulation, a plan of improving the weapon systems is developed for current naval ships. The plan is used in a stochastic model which predicts the results of the inner air battle, and is responsive to the attack and defense characteristics and variables. Theses. (rh)
