An analytical description of the effect of roll rate variation on reentry vehicle impact has been extended to include the effect of step changes in trim angle of attack. Simple analytical descriptions of the effect of step change in trim at a constant roll rate and in combination with a step change in roll rate are presented also. Results obtained using these expressions are compared with those obtained from six-degree-of-freedom trajectory simulations of the same cases. (Author)
