The proposed development of Truk District Airport includes repositioning the existing 5,100-foot-long runway to the northwest such that the new centerline coincides with the northwest edge of the existing runway. The proposed development also includes extending and paving the runway to 6000 feet with provisions for an additional 900-foot structure to ensure against possible wave overtopping during typhoons. Environmental impacts are discussed.
