There are 3 primary objectives outlined in the study: (1) to determine the economic feasibility of establishing a regional airport qualified to handle jet aircraft somewhere in the aviation service area of Cortez and Durango, Colorado, and Farmington, New Mexico; (2) to select a site location for such a facility that would both meet design criteria and respond to the area's economic needs; (3) to identify alternative methods of financing the construction and operation of such an airport.
