This report contains the results of model scale experiments on the horizontal plane characteristics of an extended strut Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) ship. Experiments were conducted in the Rotating Arm Facility of the David Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center (DTNSRDC). Speed, drift angle, roll angle, yaw rate, and rudder deflection angle were varied at two drafts. Nondimensional derivatives are presented, and the results provide a data base for prediction of the maneuvering performance of extended strut SWATH ships when compared to previous SWATH designs with spade and strut rudders of similar areas.
