Data on radar cross sections, and equipment in Europe for the wind scatterometer campaign defined by ESA are described. The experiment consists of a preliminary campaign performed by the member nations themselves and a grouped main campaign. Problems which need immediate attention are calibration (intercalibration on the antenna-range of ESTEC or calibration over a land target) and data delivery time and the format problem.
