The Logistics Composite Model (LCOM) is a powerful tool which may be used to quantify the impact of various factors on wartime sortie generation capability for fighter aircraft. However, simulation analysis involving LCOM is often effected by insufficient data and model limitations. Special analytical techniques must be employed to accurately evaluate simulation results. Avionics availability is a critical area effecting aircraft sortie generation. Several important factors determine avionics availability. The most important of these factors includes spares, radar reliability, and test equipment quantities. The modeling of test equipment performance presents many challenges. Incomplete data and modeling limitations are serious problems. (Author)
