The project will improve the existing highway, State Route 227, between the unincorporated community of Edna, and a street in the city of San Luis Obispo, a distance of 5.3 miles. The ecological effect of the proposed project is negligible. Changes required by the improvement of the existing highway will adversely affect some of the adjacent property owners. Farmland will be lost near the railroad crossing because of needed highway realignment. Proposed bridge and culvert work will disturb certain creek areas. A church will need major reconstruction.
