Results are presented herein of 54 borings made at various locations in Section H001, Franconia-Springfield Route running parallel to the existing Richmond Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad (RF&P) Trackage in the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Facilities investigated include: an earth dam across Long Branch, grading along the RF&P spur track, retaining walls along Metro trackage and around proposed facilities, six level parking structure, Greenleaf traction power substation, Tilbury Road traction power substation, and the North Mitigation Pond. The report contains geological sections through the borings, logs for the new test borings, results of laboratory tests on soil samples and comments on anticipated design and construction problems.
