The report presents the main results of a survey among employees and managers in safety related functions in Norwegian aviation. The sample includes pilots, cabin crew, air traffic controllers, technicians, ground services, planners, engineers and employees of the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority. A clear majority feel that the reorganizations in Norwegian aviation in the later years have reduced aviation safety. But other changes, in particular technical improvements and improved incident reporting, have been beneficial to safety. To a large extent, these negative and positive trends cancel each other out, although a slight majority feel that aviation safety in Norway has been reduced over the last five years.
