This report provides the engineering and economic results of PHASE I of the United States Coast Guard Icebreaker Propulsion Feasibility Study. Phase I has included evaluations and comparisons of various propulsion systems for conceptual 15,000; 35,000; 55,000; and 75,000 SHP icebreaker applications. Only available machinery representing state-of-the-art technology has been investigated. (Author)
