The Feeder System Model (FSM) is one of the analytic models included in the System Operations Studies (SOS) software package developed for urban transit systems analysis. The objective of the model is to assign a proportion of the zone-to-zone travel demand onto the station pairs of a planned guideway transit system. The assignment is based on trip time ration between using the existing system (so-called Feeder system) and the planned guideway system. The model output may be used as part of the data to compare different new systems operating in the same demand environment. Basically, the major function of the FSM is to assign patronage demand in a given area onto an AGT network operating in the same general area. This manual describes the organization of the model, the operational features, the required input, the procedure necessary for execution of the model, and the model output.
