The Air Force P87-1 satellite is scheduled to be launched on a Scout launch vehicle from the Western Space and Missile Center on October 8, 1986. The launch vehicle will be a Scout G-1 configuration, vehicle S-199, with a 34-inch diameter heatshield. The Scout vehicle will place the spacecraft into a 540 nmi circular orbit, period of 105.118 minutes, at an inclination of 90.0 degrees.
