A considerable amount of CRC pavements in Indiana have shown some distress. Past research by Faiz and Yoder have delved into the causes of this distress. Nevertheless, methods to maintain the existing CRC pavements are needed. This research deals with the design and construction of several maintenance techniques for CRC pavements. A section of pavement on I-65 was stratified into 'similar' sections of pavement using deflection, cracking, and breakups as the selection criteria. Various types of maintenance were applied to these sections in the summer and early fall of 1975.
