An overview of the survey of the US documents concerning space utilization of the Global Positioning System (GPS) is presented in the following aspects: (1) GPS utilization forms; (2) GPS utilization in space; (3) characteristics required by utilization subjects such as geostationary, high altitude orbit, long elliptic, satellite in below medium altitude orbits, and rendezvous and docking, launch vehicles, and time synchronization; (4) position accuracy by GPS; and (5) problems for GPS utilization.
