A concept is presented to solve the gyroscopic coupling problem of satellite attitude control. Control theory is used in the problem formulation and solution. Optimal decoupling control, wheel momentum tracking, and stochastic correction control and estimation are features of the concept. The systems structure of the concept is recommended for various attitude control and estimation problems. The performance obtained from computer simulation showed potential for practical application.
