The mission of the United States naval forces is to enhance security, prevent conflict and prevail in war. To effectively execute this mission, the Department of the Navy (DON) must be able to rapidly deliver secure data and information to its operational forces around the globe. This requires the DON to provide secure, interoperable, and integrated portal capabilities and resources. In an environment of severe budget challenges, the DON must identify and implement mission-effective and management-efficient strategies across the Enterprise that successfully enable mission support. The Navy Marine Corps Portal (NMCP) environment is the framework for building a DON portal environment with the capability of supporting multiple solutions. The intent of this environment is to provide seamless information exchange across all organizational boundaries.
