The report presents the results of a literature review describing that state of knowledge in ship structure damage accumulation modeling in terms of fatigue and corrosion damage, ship structural limit states design, ship structure loading and load combination, and structural reliability analysis. Based upon the information collected in these reviews, this demonstration project assembled sample material degradation accumulation, vessel loading, structural limit state, and reliability analysis models. The demonstration considered corrosion degradation and its effects on hull girder first yield, component buckling and component fatigue crack initiation. The report concludes with a review of the strengths and weaknesses of the analysis techniques and recommends further research areas to improve the viability of the techniques demonstrated in this report.
