The problems are considered in transferring cosmonauts to and Soyuz and Apollo spacecraft, which have different atmospheres. The Soyuz atmosphere is composed of 20 to 30% oxygen, and 70 to 80% nitrogen at a pressure of 760 mm Hg, while the atmosphere of the Apollo is pure oxygen at 260 mm Hg. It is suggested that prior to transfer, the pressure of the Soyuz be decreased to 0.7 atmosphere and the oxygen content be increaded to 40%, while the pressure of the Apollo be increased. The avoidance of decompression disorders is discussed.
