The twin rotary-compressor automotive air-conditioning system presented here uses a variable-capacity rolling-piston rotary compressor. The system capacity is controlled in accordance with the cooling load, enabling savings of about 30% over conventional mixed-air units. In addition, a small on-off shock and low intake-exhaust temperature differential increase service life and comfort, and the simple configuration eases installation.
