The project proposes widening and improvement of 2.2 miles of existing State Route 49 in Placer County, northerly of the City of Auburn, between the North Auburn Underpass and 0.3 mile north of Dry Creek Road. Construction consists of widening the existing highway from two lanes to four lanes with left-turn channelization and includes the relocation of a railroad underpass. The proposed highway improvement will have an impact on the Auburn Area Recreation and Park District Regional Park by improving vehicular and pedestrian access to and from the park. The improved highway facility will have an impact on recreation, business, industries, employment, and safety, by providing a more efficient means of travel. Some families and one business have to be relocated.
