Derived from basic problems of the aerothermodynamical project for hypersonic range flight equipments configurative aspects of such flight equipments, are represented using the Saenger space transportation systems. The Saenger lower stage is in the center of the examinations, as it is dominated by friction effects, whereas the upper stage is dominated by reentry pressure forces. The flow phenomena occurring in the lower stage, and in particular heat loads are discussed. Wind tunnel and numerical simulation aspects are represented.
