Analytical investigations with regard to the influence of servomechanisms and powered controls on the flutter stability of servo-controlled aircraft are made. The relating servomechanical parameters of stability augmenter systems and of control surface actuators are discussed, and the governing aeroservoelastic equations for determining analytically the flutter characteristics of servo-controlled aircraft are presented. For the simplified two-dimensional problem numerical results have been elaborated, whereby it is shown how servo-feedback couplings may influence the flutter behavior both in a positive and a negative sense.
