A method for prediction of far-field tire/road noise in the frequency range 200-1200 Hz is described and prediction results are given. A number of passenger car tires have been vibration excited in laboratory, using a white noise excitation force. The method is based on measurements of responding tire vibrations and on radiated tire noise. In several tests the tires were loaded to simulate ground contact.
