Motor system designs for ballistic and aerodynamic return space probes are discussed. Rocket propulsion systems for space projects are illustrated by the Moon landing projects Saturn C1 and Saturn C5. The use of air breathing systems for the propulsion of space gliders is discussed; the characteristics of the different systems are given. The trajectory data of several systems are compared.
