This CD-ROM contains documents from the International Fire and Cabin Safety Research Conference held on November 16-20, 1998 at Harrah's Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. The International Fire and Cabin Safety Resarch Conference was co-hosted by the United States (US) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), the European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), and the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB); it is a follow on to the International Conference on Cabin Safety Research, held in Novermber 1995. At variance with the objective of the latter, which was primarily to present the Authorities: 'Proposed Cabin Safety Research Program (Transport Category Airplanes)' and obtain input from the aviation community on this Program, the objective of the present Conference was to apprise the aviation community of recent, on-going and planned research activities in the areas of fire and cabin safety. The Conference comprised presentations and discussions in the areas of fire safety (including materials flammability, fuselage burnthrough, halon replacement, fuel tank explosion, and advanced materials), crash dynamics, evacuation, and operational issues.
