A software model was developed to estimate truck costs under different equipment configurations, input prices, and gross vehicle weights. The software was developed for many different configurations and trip-characteristics. Important conclusions can be drawn from running simulations including the sensitivity of costs and equipment use, wait time and trip distance, labor, and fuel price. Relationships of cost variables and the cost of operations are important for trucking companies and shippers.
