In our time it is difficult to find any part of the national economy, where radio-electronic technology is not applied. The scientific investigations of different processes are conducted with its aid; it occupies the leading place in aircraft- and navigation. Only because of the high level of the development of electronics was it possible to carry out successful launching of artificial Earth satellites and flights of manned spacecraft. Radio electronics extensively is used also in the armed forces (Army, Aviation and the Navy). Radar is one of the most important directions of radio electronics. By term radar is understood the area of science and technology, which studies the methods of position finding of different objects with the aid of the radio; the equipment, used for the radio detection, is called 'radar technology', 'radar stations' (RLS) or simply 'radars'.
