The document describes modern docking installations used in the construction and repair of medium-size and large ships. Materials on the technological, structural and rating characteristics of docking installations have been systematized and correlated. Particular attention is paid to the description of dry docks, flooding dry docks and flooding dock chambers. An analysis and a comparative technical-economic correlation of various docking installations are given. The most important directions in the development of ship building and ship repair for single and multi-berth complex installations are reviewed, several conclusions are drawn and practical recommendations in this field are given.
